how do you get dried candle wax out of a carpet?
Romantic evening with a few melted candles knocked over, lol. So how do you get dried candle wax out of the carpet?
Steam Carpet Cleaner. — I had a professional company with a very powerful carpet cleaning machine suck it right out of my carpet. They had no problem removing the wax in minutes.

if you heat it with a hair dryer or something so that its get soft or liquid, it will wipe off easily.

Take a cotton towel and lay it over the wax and then press a hot iron over the spot. Repeat until all wax is removed.

It is time consuming but it does work. The only way to get the dried wax up is to reheat it, so boil some water and pour it over the wax. Immediately start wipping it with a towel or something. It may take a couple of times, depending on how big the candle was. Use gloves because the carpet does hold the hot water pretty well.

Place a towel over the spot. Press down with an iron then lift up (repeat using a different spot on the towel) Do not move the iron back and forth this will only cause the spot to spread.

2 ways:
Put ice in a baggie and place on the wax. When it hardens, scrape it off with a flat knife (not a sharp one).
Or:
Place a clean cloth on the spot and iron it. The wax will melt and be absorbed into the cloth. I find that this works the best. I spilled candle wax all over a large footstool and you would never know! Really!

Get some good quality plain white paper towels and grab your iron. Put several layers of towels over the wax and iron away. it will take the wax out but if it was a red candle you may still have a light pink stain. I suppose you could try a bit of spray cleaner with bleach IF it is a light colored carpet.

Get some paper towel and a regular towel and an iron. Put the paper towel on the wax and then the reg. towel over top of that. Iron the towel. The heat from the iron will melt the wax and the paper towel will absorb it. You may have to use more then one piece of paper towel.

Put a brown paper bag over the dried candle wax and run an iron over it, this will require a few strokes. The wax should lift onto the paper bag

try a hot iron and lots of newspaper
lay about 3 folded sheets of paper down and heat it up the iron will melt the wax and paper is absorbent
clean the iron afterwards if it gets on the bottom

Place a brown paper bag on the wax and place a hot iron on the bag. Do not move the iron around. Hold in place for a few seconds. Lift iron, move bag to cover the wax using a clean spot on the bag. Keep repeating until wax has been removed. This works really well.

I actually came upon this question while looking for the same solution. My son had accidentally knocked over a candle which was on a warmer–so it was all liquid!! I tried the towel and iron trick and i couldn’t believe how well it worked!! it was a cinnamon one at that–lol.anyway, try laying a towel down and a iron, but don’t spread it around.
