How do I get candle wax out of carpet?
I was burning a dark purple candle yesterday on our fireplace. I got up just for about 2 minutes to empty the dishwasher and I see that the candle overflowed somehow onto the white carpet. It’s a berber, if that helps. Is it true that i can put down papertowels and run a warm iron over it?
get a brown paper bag from your grocery store – maybe several. place the brown bag over the wax and then place a iron on the highest setting on the bag. move in a circular motion. the heat gets the wax soft and the paper bag absorbs the wax. replace the bag often and do this all long as you need to remove all the wax. this really works!!! good luck to you!!!

you need to scrap off most of the wax first but then use a white towel heated with an iron

place a sheet or a cloth over the wax and then iron with a really hot iron, that should get it out

maybe even a hair dryer will melt it and you could sop it up, i think you should just bleach it so it doesnt show, and then move the couch on top of it.

wow sounds like you got a major problem there, hmm
try some oxy clean, and if that doesn’t work then try removing it by hand with water and let it soak to remove the wax.
Good luck removing the candle wax from the floor.

I worked at a popular candle store for over a year and heard many stories about spilled wax! You are correct, wait until the wax dries, put papertowels over the spill and iron on top of the papertowels. Make sure the iron is on low though so you don’t burn the carpet or the papertowels. GOOD LUCK!!

Thats what I’ve done before, worked okay for me. Check out the links below for more ideas though.

i would reccomend trying to slowly damp it with paper towels along with trying to steam it. if you dont have a steamer, a warm iron would probably work

Put a cloth towel over it, Iron over the towel. U will want the iron to be pretty hot, just be careful not to let it touch your carpet or it will burn it. I’m not sure it will get all of it up, depends on how bad it is. It did work for me.
Good luck

Well I don’t know but this is what you should not do: try to act all romantic for your bf’s b-day with lit candles all the way up your CARPET staired staircase.

first scrape off the extra wax with a spoon or a knife then take a thin butter paper iron over it & use some tissues dip it in hot water & clean with it

I had the same thing happen to me only it was a dark blue candle. I used a brown paper bag and ran an iron over it. I was amazed how fast and well the candle wax came up. I hope it works for you too.
